SQUAD PSAs
One of the SQUAD’s (Students Questioning Under Age Drinking) more interesting projects is working with the media. They call themselves “Media Mentors.” Over the past several years we have produced a number of 30 sec. PSAs (Public Service Announcements) for radio. These PSAs have been aired over a number of stations with youth audiences like K-Rock, Hot 107.9 & Power 106.9. We submitted our most recent PSA to the Christian radio stations at MARS HILL.
These PSAs have received awards and recognition from the New York State Board of Traffic Safety for the past two years. Each PSA is written and acted by the teens. We have had the generous support of Galaxy Communications and their producer Ted Billado to bring our ideas to reality. Have your teens keep an ear open for our PSAs. They all have a tag line – “Brought to you by Prevention Network’s SQUAD Students Questioning Underage Drinking.” The theme of the most recent PSA is “Have a good time that you will remember – DON’T Drink!”
